24 Hours in JB

A spontaneous trip to Johor Bahru is definitely one of the most convenient way for a short getaway from Singapore. What I meant by short is really short (24hours). Most people might ask how much can you do in 24 hours, and here is my own experience on a Public Holiday Eve.

30 April 2015
  • 2000hr
    • Gathered at Queen Street to catch the bus to Woodlands Checkpoint.
    • As expected, people end up late and the queue at the bus station was horrible.
  • 2300hr
    • Reached Malaysia Checkpoint after all the nightmares of queuing everywhere.
    • Went to wait for cab and somehow no cab want to fetch us to our hotel.
  • 2340hr
    • Managed to get a cab after much negotiation.
01 May 2015
  • 0000hr

    • Reached our hotel (Hallmark Regency Hotel Johor Bahru) finally
Hallmark Regency Hotel
The Family Suite
    • The hotel room wasn't very up to the standard that I was expecting but it was still acceptable.
  • 0030hr
    • Depart from hotel for our long awaited supper!
Marking attendance before moving out
  • 0100hr
    • Finally found the place after some lost turns and wandering
火辣辣 LokLok
    • According to one of them, this 火辣辣 LokLok is one of the famous one.
    • Located at the stretch of road in front of New York Hotel.
Lots of food for the hungry
All the recharged look after filling the tummy
  • 0230hr
    • Left the supper place and bought some essentials from nearby 24hr shop.
  • 0240hr
    • Reached back to hotel to put down our items that we bought and left for 2nd round of party
  • 0250hr
    • Arrived at Grand Paragon Sky Lounge.
    • Just beside our hotel.
    • Closing time was at 0300hr so the staff didn't bother entertaining us.
    • Lucky enough, the regulats there were so friendly and treated us drink.
Drinking Buddies
  • 0330hr
    • Decided to go back to hotel since most of them were tired already.
  • 0500hr
    • Everyone went to bed after washing up and some little talks.
  • 0900hr
    • Rise and shine.
  • 1000hr
    • Managed to get all of our ass down to the dining area to grab some breakfast after rolling around in the bed.
    • Breakfast was decent enough, I was expecting worse given the price we paid.
  • 1100hr
    • Headed back to our rooms to wash up and pack up
  • 1200hr
    • Checked out of hotel room and headed to Holiday Plaza
    • Some of them wish to buy mobile phone casing
    • Holiday Plaza has the better deal for mobile phone casing
  • 1430hr
    • Walked around KSL to see if there is anything to buy.
  • 1600hr
    • Reached Bukit Indah Aeon.
    • Split to do what we like (Manicure, Massage, Shopping)
  • 1900hr
    • Met back at the meeting point and headed for seafood dinner at Hook Sang.
    • No photos here because I accidentally delete all the photos here.
  • 2100hr
    • Left Bukit Indah and cab all the way to Tuas Checkpoint
  • 2200hr
    • There wasn't any crowd at both side of the customs
  • 2300hr
    • Home Sweet Home
Okay, the timing might have been a little more than 24hr but it is good enough. It was quite a packed itinerary though. We were all tired by the end the time we reached home but it was definitely a fun trip. Many first time experience for them.
